Hedgehog Clothing Swap

All Hedgehog decluttered their wardrobes and we did a big clothing-swap.

Hedgehog Clothing Swap

How many pieces of clothing do you have at home, that you barely use? In our case, still to many. We decided to do a clothing-swap, where all colleagues could bring and swap items they don't wear any more.

And the remaining pieces we brought to a Leger de Heils location, where the clothes will be re-distributed through the ReShare initiative. Meaning, clothes of good quality will be sold in their stores, and items of lower quality will be passed-on to initiatives that take care of rest-flows in the fashion industry.

With this, we hopefully pro-longed the life-span of some of these items. And we got ourselves some nice new outfits, win-win!

Frequently asked questions

A corporate clothing swap is an internal company event where colleagues bring clothing items they no longer wear to exchange them with one another. This allows employees to find new outfits and gives a new life to pre-owned garments, as demonstrated by the Hedgehog clothing swap.

The main benefits of a workplace clothing swap are that it is a 'win-win' for employees and the environment. Employees can get nice new outfits for free, while the company helps to prolong the life-span of clothing items, contributing positively to sustainability.

A company clothing swap promotes sustainability by extending the life-span of garments that might otherwise be discarded. By facilitating the exchange of clothes, the initiative ensures items are reused, reducing waste and the environmental impact associated with the fashion industry's rest-flows.

A business should donate any remaining clothes from a swap event to an organization that can ensure they are redistributed effectively. For example, items can be brought to a location like Leger de Heils, which partners with the ReShare initiative to handle leftover clothing.

The ReShare initiative handles donated clothing by sorting it based on its condition. Clothes of good quality are sold in its stores, while items of lower quality are passed on to other initiatives that specialize in managing rest-flows from the fashion industry.
